Psalm 63:1-8 God really does want to get to know us in a more personal way. He really wants to be our best friend if we'll let Him. We must practice the same disciplines Jesus did. Scripture says He rose early & spent time with the Father. We must have a desire to spend time with Him. He wants to talk to us and He wants us to talk to Him. He wants us to get to know Him by spending time in His Word and talking to Him in prayer! In Ephesians Chapter 6 Paul talks about us putting on the full armor of God so when the day of evil comes we can stand and after having done everything to stand!
Your day of evil may be here right now if not it may be coming soon. To be able to stand against the day of evil the only thing that will get us through is our relationship with Jesus! Not how much we know or how much we've done, but our relationship with Him! We must know Him. We must rely on Him. We must be dependent on Him. Sometimes, as we grow in the Lord we begin to become self-sufficient. This is a dangerous place for a Christian to be. We are not self-sufficient. No matter how much we've grown spiritually or how much we've done for the kingdom. We are dependent upon Him. We were created this way. Cling to Him dear children. Cling to Him when things are going well so when the day of evil comes you don't need to be afraid because you are already sitting in your daddy's lap! Who can harm you when you are sitting in your daddy's lap? Remember when you were in grade school & you had to deal with the class bully. He never picked on you when you were in your daddy's presence. It was only when you got of his presence that the bully was able to pick on you. So it is in the kingdom of God. When you are in the Father's presence Satan cannot touch you. It's only when you get out of His presence that he can try to bully you. And truthfully, that's all he can do anyway. Satan has no power or authority or control over you if you are a believer in Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior unless you give it to him. Stay in the Father's presence. Develop the disciplines of Jesus! You will never be the same & God will be able to use you mightily to further His kingdom!

There is nothing like the pressence of the Lord. A sense of my head in His lap and him stroking my head with love. Daddy's pressence, strong, protective. Good word. A reminder to walk in the presence not just be in it during a church service.
