Three Little Pigs

Everybody remember the story of the 3 little pigs. They went out on their own to make their own way in life. They started by building their own houses. The first little pig built his house out of straw because it was the easiest. But one day the big bad wolf came & said let me in little pig or I'll huff & puff & blow your house down. The little pig said, "Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin." The wolf blew & the house came down. The second little pig built his house out of sticks, but when the big bad wolf came he was able to blow that house down as well. The 3rd little pig built his house out of brick and when the big bad wolf came & threatened to blow his house down he couldn't do it. Jesus told a similar story in Matthew Chapter 7:24-27. He said a wise man is a man who hears this words of mine & puts them into practice. When the storms of life come the house will stand because it is built on the rock. The rock is in doing what Jesus says. It's not enough to hear or to know what Jesus said but to actually do it. A foolish man on the other hand builds his house out of sand. Sand being someone who hears Jesus words and does not do them. When the storms of life come against that house it will fall and great will be the fall of that house. The house is your life. What is your house made out of?
The Church in America is full of hypocrites. Hypocrites hear & know Jesus words but fail to do them. The only people who are wise are those who hear Jesus words & actually act on them & put them into practice!
Can you imagine me telling one of my grandchildren to go clean their room & they come back & say granddad we heard what you said and we want you to know we have memorized it & we can recite it back to you about going & cleaning our rooms? We even formed a committee of our friends to study this out & find out more deeply what it means to go & clean our rooms. We've studied the Greek & can now recite it in Greek as well.
Can you see the ridiculousness in this? The room still isn't cleaned! And I'm not too happy about their approach to my command to go & clean their room.
Wonder what Jesus thinks when we hear his words & even study them but fail to act on them? We must be like James and purpose to not be hearers only but be doers of the Word!
