Great Awakening

Great Awakening
In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David. 2 Chronicles 34:3
When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes…Great is the Lord’s anger that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written in this book. 2 Chronicles 34:19-21
The story of Josiah is one of the great stories in the Bible. He becomes king when he is 8 years old. 8 years later he begins to clean out all the detestable practices the Israelites had setup. He begins to honor the Lord throughout the land. He led the people back to their God. They began to follow the Book by the letter. They worshipped the Lord and begin to do everything according to the Book.
As I read that story, Josiah finds the condition of his country very much like they are here in America. He made the decision to follow the Lord and led the people in his nation back to God. He was appalled at the disobedience of his fathers. He began to serve the Lord wholeheartedly and led the people to do the same. The really cool thing is he began to do all these things as a teenager. I sense that very same thing is happening again right here in our own country. I also sense that teenagers are going to lead the movement back to God here in America. For the last 6 months things have begun to change in our Church. We feel a stronger presence of the Lord in our meetings. We sense a stronger anointing on our worship and on the preaching and it doesn’t matter who is preaching. All of these things started after we had our time of prayer and fasting in January. I started noticing changes in our youth group. Some of them would begin to show up on Wednesday night as early as 5 PM. They would worship and pray in the youth room until service started. Our Wednesday nights began to change. Then I noticed 7 or 8 adults would begin to meet on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and begin to pray for an hour before service. Our Sunday morning services began to change. God is on the move! Everything starts with prayer and fasting. I want to encourage you this week to begin to fast and pray especially for the services this week. We will be meeting at 6 PM an hour before the service to pray. We are believing for a 100 souls this week. Invite somebody to one of the evening services and begin to pray for them even now! Nobody is too young and nobody is too old to obey God and be a part of what He is doing in the earth today!
Consumed by the call,
Pastor Marty

I love it. I really enjoyed how the word can change us no matter what age we are. God uses the willing heart and the heart becomes willing through His word. We join you in the hope of our country to turn back to the Lord. We join you in prayer.
